When organizing an American party, one may want to consider the timing. Since the Fourth of July is known around the World as America’s Independence Day, this is clearly the perfect time to host an event of this type. However, US themed events might be great fun to help celebrate any family event including wedding parties, relatives birthdays or wedding anniversaries.

The party venue can be furnished in red, white, and blue. Rock, country, or blues music can be played in the background, and games like American football or hockey will help keep friends amused. Straightforward snacks like chocolate floss machines, popcorn carts, retro sweet stalls, chocolate fountains, pancakes or crepes, ice cream trikes and pick and mix stands can add the wow factor to any us styled event, and a mini fireworks display could be the perfect ending to this type of theme party.

Food at an American theme celebration should be simple and ample. A patio outdoor barbecue is a superb way for you to prepare food for this kind of celebration. Hot dogs and hamburgers can be grilled upon a barbecue grill, plus foods like white potato caesar’s salad, corn on the cob, and watermelon may be presented on the side. Ice cream and apple pie can be served for the dessert. To get a authentic impact, why not hire in the professionals and add a genuine center piece to your party, like these awesome options:

Popcorn Carts

The sweet smell from a Popcorn Cart Machine is truly irresistible and fills the room. Popcorn machines are a natural draw to people and will soon have them reminiscing about cinemas and theaters from days gone by. To top it off, popcorn makes a perfect guilt free snack as it contains virtually no fat at all.

An American Hot Dog Trike

It doesn’t get more American than a hot dog cart serving delicious hot dogs and chilli dogs. Why not also ask the hire company to provide a hot dog mascot to serve your guests, and you really will make an impression! Satisfy your hungry guests in true Americana style!

A pancake or crepe stall provides a delicious center piece for any party or event. The possibilities for american style sauces and fillings is limited only by your imagination.

Decorations

Any sort of theme party wants a variety of appropriate ornaments to get the idea home. You shouldn’t be afraid of going too far with your US decor. The obvious and conventional choice is to decorate with red, white and blue. Give Old Glory a run for its money by decking out your home or back yard with red, white and blue crepe paper, table cloths, candles, confetti and various other decorative accents.

Some hosts like to close an American themed event, especially a Fourth of July event with a firework show. Depending on a host’s budget and know how, along with the local laws in a particular region, this display may be rather large or fairly small. Sparklers are a good touch at the end of any event. They’re pretty cheap, they are really straight forward to operate, and no special licenses are often needed.

Music is another important concern when throwing an Americana party. Rock ‘n’ roll and also country music can also be played. The southern US is also considered to be the home of jazz and blues music so this type of music are also appropriate.

Costumes

US Icons

There’s a lot of top US symbols to select from, covering anything from The Statue of Liberty right through to Uncle Sam, and they are easily recognizable no matter where you are in the World. When thinking about US Presidents, besides the present incumbent, Barack Obama and the ones that are in living memory, George Washington and Abraham Lincoln are probably the key two former Presidents which could be recognizable.

Wild West

Your children, and event the adults, will have great fun with a Wild West theme fancy dress party. Indians (or Native Americans) are now less fashionable than they used to be for Wild West parties, but for those who want to be different, why not go native indian for the night.

Cowboys still tend to be one of the most popular costumes for Wild West parties and cowboy costumes are readily available. Cowgirls are possibly less common as there are fewer female role models. Annie Oakley and Doris Day spring to mind as country icons that have recognition, and some might remember Cat Balou (Jane Fonda) from the Sixties. Country and Western singers, such as Dolly Parton have also given the cowgirl a more glitzy image that that portrayed by Doris Day as Calamity Jane.

Games

Party activities are an important part of any American theme party, since it will help keep guests from getting bored. Games like American football and baseball can be played outside, if the host has sufficient room. For those who don’t want to play sports, these games can be watched on television instead. American themed trivia or charades are also excellent games for both kids and adults alike.

Red, white, and blue tag

Give each competitor one token of each color and when the whistle blows, the game starts! Challenge players to be the first to gather one red, one white, and one blue token by tagging other players.  This game is perfect outdoor fun for young kids.

Uncle Sam hat competition

Set up a card table with safety scissors, glue, star cutouts, construction paper, cotton balls, glitter and tape and have guest create their own Uncle Sam hat.  After everyone is done, have a parade of Uncle Sam hats and let the party decide on the winner. Party goers in their newly-made hats will make the perfect photo.”
