Picnic in the Forest Dotty Soap Recipe
- 500 grams Olive oil,
- 150 grams Coconut oil,
- 50 grams Shea butter
- Sodium hydroxide as calculated by this lye calculator with 10% Superfat
- Coconut water and coconut milk: 300 grams
- 1tsp Honey
- Pre-made dots: chocolate soap, cocoa soap, aromatic herbs soap, honey and oatmeal soap
- Essential oils: cedar wood, patchouli, birch sweet, tea tree.
I wanted a long trace and since I had all that coconut water on hand, I thought I up the soap liquid content so I can have plenty of time to strategically place the dots of soap . As a result I’ve got a very soft batch of soap that took a long time to harden.
As for the scent: it reminds me of a picnic in the woods. Hot coffee, chocolate cake, and the earthy smell of woodland trees.
Two months later, the soap is rock hard and has a rich stable lather. The scents faded so now it’s only a lightly scented soap.
